Just a general question about worth of certain parts over others I picked up a 18 spline 4 speed for my 69 Superbee. It is stamped with a vin never checked it until just now. It comes back to a 1969 Charger Daytona. Is it inherently worth more because of this (Daytona)? Is it one of those worth more only to the guy with the rest of the car type of thing? I am going to put it behind my 512 and hammer so was just wondering if i was off base..
Vin XX29L9B288078
Body Type: X = Dodge Charger
Price Class: X = Fast Top, Daytona Charger
Body Type: 29 = 2 Door Sports Hardtop
Engine: L = 440 375HP 1-4BBL 8 CYL
Year: 9 = 1969
Sequence Number: 288078 = 188078th Vehical Built

Maybe throw the VIN up on a couple sites and see if anyone knows if its still around. I would gladly trade it to the guy who had the car for a replacement 18 spline if it were me. See what ya can find. Maybe make someones day.

XX29L9B238078 (SPD approximately B20) is a known VIN for a Charger 500.

A 288078 VIN (Approximate 206 SPD) is too late for a 500 and too early for a Daytona.

Thank you very much for the info! It’s appreciated

Are you still going to try and reunite it with the original car or let it go? Just curious it would be nice to see it back in the original car.. imo

From the information I’ve been able to gather the Vin is known but the cars whereabouts are currently unknown The vin has been posted in other sites and people who collect such knowledge now know as to its existence. I will leave it at that..

This is for one of the 392 ‘69 Charger 500’s built which had the full VIN stamp.
‘69 Daytona’s only had the partial VIN Stamp. ex: 9BLxxxxxx or 9BJxxxxxx
I would patiently determine if the car exists and make every effort to reunite this with it.
Secondly, if the car doesn’t exist offer it to a ‘69 Charger 500 owner that wants to maintain pedigree in their car.
You can always find a replacement for your car.
Value? Don’t overprice it, be fair. To a point it’s worth more to the owner or someone wanting pedigree.
Rare parts can be a turkey so to speak...I bought an A12 440 block for my bee only to find out the car existed rendering it useless to me.
It took 2 years and a change of ownership of the car to reunite it.
The price 5 years ago: $1,500 including shipping from NY to SC.
