RIP Denny, great coach for his time, to many players & several teams...

"They are, who we thought they were"
his famous quote after losing a game, he figured he should've won...

Rest in peace!

Second greatest coach in VIKINGS history --- only the immortal BUD GRANT tops him ----
Hopefully, MIKE ZIMMER will one day (and soon!!) be thought of as among the top three in VIKINGS history....
For, if we can win it all this year --and defend in our house next year ----- life would be PERRRRRRFECT.......
Thanks, Dennis, for all the times we shook hands and talked, you were always a gentleman and I Loved you......
May peace forever be with you..... you were who we thought you were!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

R.I.P., Coach Green. Seemed like one of the good guys.

one of the great post game melt downs of all time!

unrelated.........Eagles were horrid in 98, and I attached myself to the Cunningham led vikings........ Robert Smith runs out of bounds stopping the clock, Gary Anderson misses a chip shot to go up 10, and the defense pukes....... no Super Bowl for Randall, or Coach Green

Denny came in here with great new attitude & really improved the Vikings. Then over time things changed. He began to see everything through racial glasses. Really good coach, terrible at clock management. RIP Denny.

RIP Coach nice job.... been a Viking fan since the days of the purple people eaters.. Page, Marshall, Eller, Larson .... and Bud Grant, he should be on MT. Rushmore

X2 for me as well. Well said. RIP Denny Green. I heard that they let him go after he demanded a stake in the ownership of the Vikings. Good guy - great coach. Some good years with the Vikes!

Bud is one of a kind. Back at the old Met stadium, out doors, the LA Rams would come to town for playoffs in Dec. Bud didn't allow heaters on the Viking sideline. The LA guys were on the other side freezing their *** off with their heaters. That was Bud's psychology. Bud & Denny were very different, but had many similarities. Denny did let his ego get away from him.

Dennis Green would always come over to me before every VIKINGS game I attended -- would always shake my hand -- and always loved my words
of encouragement -- and would listen to thoughts I had to make us better --- He knew I BLEED Purple -- and respected my comments...
I can truly say I LOVED him -- how many NFL head coaches will take time out to chat with their fans????
(Does anyone think Bill Belicheck ever would?!?!?!?!)
