Looking for input from the group on this. I see in the parts book that there was an option for this, has anyone ever seen this on a car? Thanks

In 1969 some California cars had dual snorkel with CAP system. What the system entails matters in engine, Trans, A/C, and body style. I think 1968 California had requirements too.

California smog requirements started in 1966. Mopars don’t get much compared to most Ford’s and GM’s.

does your air cleaner have nipple in left snorkel?

what Trans, A/C?

from your wanted ad, it sounds like you don’t have a factory type air cleaner at all right now??

I seen 1 or 2 in the 70's, so most likely original.

my 68 came with the large unsilenced one, no snorkles...... 10/24 lynch rd build for what it's worth

non a/c 440 auto....... sold new in south jersey

thanks for sharing

The '68 air cleaners had the nipple to pcv valve; '67's did not. 383 Barracuda's also used this, and maybe 383 Dart's as well. I have a reprint of engineering papers related to the 1967 introduction of the 375 hp. 440. According to these, the 4-speed cars were to receive the large unsilenced. no-snorkles air cleaner while automatic cars got the large double snorkel one. A friend has a 1969 SuperBee. with factory A/C and it has the large double snorkel air cleaner. Maybe Chrysler did the same thing with 1968 A/C cars? I also know of a 1967 GTX. automatic car that came from the factory with the large no-snorkel air cleaner with a Dodge 440 Magnum pie tin on it. A classic case of "What's in the parts bin today?" .

I don't have the original, but would have had a nipple for the PCV for sure either in the can or snorkel

Sold in WA state, auto and no AC- Convertible car and not a hot climate- No original air cleaner, so before I track one done trying to confirm the most likely option

I've seen a 9/67 Coronet R/T one owner car have the large round version, but all the other 440 mags in 68 that I've seen get the smaller one like in post #15. The 68's got the red pie tin.

California did things differently than everybody else in those days (still do!).I wouldn't be surprised to find a dual snorkel on a california car.
Your 49 state car should have a 49 state air cleaner. Like in #15.
