Did Anyone....

it's a street wedge block. i don't think they have any great value like a max wedge block.

Its worth something if you are restoring a street wedge car. The date is a puzzle though no way they cast and big blocks in 84.

The V on the stamp pad indicates a 1964 assembly date. The 84 on the side must have been a mistake. The HP doesn't mean Max Wedge - street wedge blocks have HP on them. I think Max Wedge blocks had MP on the pad for Maximum Performance. It's not a Max Wedge block - no valve reliefs are present in the cylinders.

If you look at it REAL REAL REAL REAL REAL good, you can see it's a 6. It's just a messy 6. See...check it out.

Yep, a MW will be marked with VMP 42 and the font is usually larger than what's on this engine. I believe it should also have a 1/2" oil pick up. Good catch on the date rusty!

i knew a guy who was going to give me a 426 street wedge for my 65 coronet. i looked at the cost to build the 426 vs a 440 and stayed with the 440. the real issue is pistons. to build a pump gas friendly engine means custom pistons with matching heads. i know how to measure and order custom pistons; i just don't want to pay the price for them.
