I was looking at buying new carbs and was wondering what the differance is between the 69-70 & 71 carbs? about a 125$ differance on the outboards and 25$ on center carb.
I'm not worried about being #'s correct just performance.
Thanks
Tim

Not an expert, but I've owned all of them. As far as I know the jetting & idle circuits are different on each year, emission stuff was different each year as I recall. The '69's have a different shaped jet plate in the end carbs (rectangular not with angles on the lower corners). The setup that worked best for me was a set of '70 carbs, stock jetting with the idle screws richened up on the '69 aluminum manifold.

I was mistaken I think Jegs shows 90$ on the center and 15 on end carbs. Just curious if it's only jetting as I'll have to rejet anyway. Maybe I'll call them and ask.

Well I called and only difference is part # so ordered the 71's. Saved me about 100$ Does anyone know if the air grabber lid & A12 lid are the same?

Same wide lip lid.

Thanks 62, that'll save me a little as I already have one!
