Different front grille interchangeable?

hey there! Will a different year front grille and hood, say from a ‘70 Satellite, fit my ‘68 Sat? I’ve attached pictures of the 2 in question.

If I had the right shaped hood, would the grille/headlight surrounds bolt right up, or is there more difference than that?

A '70 hood won't fit, but I "think" a '69 hood would. There are some good 68/69 experts here that know for sure. And if I'm right.....lift off fiberglass six pack hood all day long! I love those hoods!

I have a lift-off 6 for the 68, but it sucks (doodoo repro) and we want to change it. And the grille is damaged, so it needs changing anyhow... i always liked the 70 grille, so figured maybe I could get away with it.

Looks like more than that. Looks like Lower bumper filler, grill headlight bezels, hood and fenders will have to all swap over. Look at the 69 hood and how it drops by the headlight. You cant just take a hood from a 70 and swap it over. Not quite sure on the fenders but they looks to be different too.

Besides the headlight bezel there is additional chrome around the bezel on the fender.. Im pretty sure the 70s are different.

Yep, the doors are the same, but the whole front clip is different. I believe everything would bolt up if you wanted a front-half '70 and back-half '68 (for some strange reason). I've "been told" that my '70 Roadrunner had a Super Bee front clip on it at one point.

Gotcha. Maybe I’ll just fab on a civic front clip or something... y’know... for the coolness.

Funny you posted that. Back when I did Siding.. We drove a 64 Valiant wagon 3 on the tree with a /6. We stopped by a grocery store and bought tin foil, canned biscuits and some ham. Cooked biscuits on the exhaust manifolds on the way to work. Funny thing is you could smell them and knew when they were ready.. Pulled over and had breakfast.
