I switched to led 1157 bulbs in the rear of the super bee. Bulbs light for brake lamp and tail lamp operation but will not blink when directional is selected. Is there a different flasher that needs to be used in conjunction with the led bulbs?

It's a steering column issue
If you have the turnsignal on and the bulb is lit the problem will be in the flasher. Not enough load to make the flasher break contact.

You definitely need to run an LED flasher.
I used this one from Amazon.
And you will need 2 of them as there is a separate flasher for the 4 ways or hazard lights.

YUP, I went out to autozone and was given an electronic flasher EL12 and the directionals work again
