Can someone tell me what factory parts I can use for upgrade my 65 Coronet to front disc brakes? Like the darts upgrading to disc brakes from 1973 and later A bodies. I'm not sure of what to use for my old Coronet. Thanks Ron

The 73 up spindles, rotors, calipers and brackets for the A are the same as the 73 up B body. You can also use F,M,J, parts too. Common and easy to find are the Diplomat/NewYorker of the mid to late 80's.If you get the splindles and caliper brackets everything else is easy to get at local parts stores.

I did the conversion to my 65 with the A-body spindles and bought a kit on eBay, but used a Mopar M/C and adjustable valve. Some kits you buy will have a GM M/C and a huge adapter, I stayed away from that stuff.

I eventually went big brakes and took all my old stuff off after about a year.

I agree about the GM parts. I know a guy who had the GM style booster, and the vaccuum of a Mopar engine doesn't seem to jive with that booster. Switched to the A-body style and it worked well then.
I did a front PDB conversion last year on a 64 Dodge for a customer, used a complete kit from Right Stuff, however they don't offer it anymore. Works fantastic though, it was the A-body booster and master cylinder. Used a manual proportioning valve to fine tune it.

I know you asked about factory, but Wilwood makes a really nice pro-street setup that converts the drum spindle to disc.

Very light weight (aluminum hub) and a super easy conversion!

Thank you to all for help on my conversion. I'm thinking that the Wilwood conversion is the way to go even though, I have a set of 73 or later spindles and rotors. Thanks again Ron

Mine was right around $680.00 if I recall correctly.

I used a $25 master cylinder for a pickup truck coupled with a $35 AREngineering adapter for the firewall.

It is expensive and not for everyone...

I think I'll dust off my A body parts. Hadn't looked up the price on the Wilwood Kit. Thanks for the update. Ron

I'd like to do that on my 62 any idea how much $ also will they work with no power boosted?
I use a factory setup without a booster and it works great. Just make sure you use a non-power master cyl. I use a '74 Dart manual disc master and it is a bolt on. My car is 3650 lbs and goes 125 in the quarter and have no problems stopping it.

Take a look at Strange Engineering I did all 4 wheels but they were drag brakes but, I think they have other products. Very nice product I am happy with them and there support. Call ask for
Tracy she is the one to talk to. ( very knowledgeable)
