I have a 65 Dodge Coronet with drum brakes and want to change to disc. Does anybody know or has used disc brakes from a 79 Plymouth Volare wagon and if they will work on my Coronet if I get spindle, caliper & bracket, and upper a-arm assuming I would need the upper arm unless I can use my existing a-arm. thanks in advance. this is also posted in brake section but figured I would post here too. The Volare spindle is a direct bolt on. You keep your original upper and lower control arms. I mounted my calipers to the rear. You just need to make sure you get the right calipers and brake lines. I can get you the part # if you need them. You need to use a dual master cylinder if you haven't already got rid of the suicide single line master.

I see where the caliper mounts to the rear of the spindle so I should be okay using the Volare hoses, caliper brackets and calipers right. Yes my cylinder is the single master cylinder of death. what I have now is power drum brakes. So is there a dual master cylinder I can use that mounts up to my existing booster. Or is there a booster and master combo off of another car I can use in place of mine. If you have the part numbers that would be great too.

Here's the master I used,

You should be able to used you brake booster. Mopar used a dual diaphragm power booster (which is hard to find) when you had disk brakes but the single diaphragm booster which came on drum brake cars should be ok.

I used a brake proportioning valve (the brass one) from a 74 dart with disk brakes.

The calipers you have should be ok just make sure the bleeder valve is at the top and not on the bottom. You can't get all of the air out of the lines if the bleeder valve is pointed down.
