Anybody know if someone sells a disc brake kit with the smaller 10.87 inch rotors that would let me keep my 14 inch wheels? Master Power Brakes says no. I found a kit with everything but master cylinder and proportioning valve for only about 400 bucks, seems very reasonable, but it does use the 11 inch rotors. Maybe I should just go ahead and start looking for bigger wheels.I'm having no luck finding knuckles/calipers from junkyards, everybody wants a ton of money, for same money I can get new.

Try SSBC they work on my 66 cuda with 14 inch rallys.

The 73-76 A Body spindles with the 10.87 rotors will let you use 14 inch rims - I had no problem when I converted my 69 Charger (now long gone :crybaby2:). You can also use the FMJ spindles with the 10.87 rotors as well. Got both)

I have never seen anything except the factory stock ones from an A-BODY or something like an F/M/J body car. It is expensive new/conversion I have priced out 15" mag 500's along with front disc conversion kits and BFG'S 245x60x15 $1800 approximately in my area.

If you find a 14" conversion kit let me know :)

Yes, SSBC make a kit that fits ok with 14" wheels... or at least they did when we bought ours in 2005.

We were looking at MP & SSBC and weighing up the options. They use different size master cylinder pushrods (pistons?) - one is larger than the other - and we couldnt decide which would give the better pedal pressure/feel, but ended up deciding on SSBC as they were advertised as fitting with 14" wheels and we wanted to be able to use our original wheels.

I have got a wilwood-setup for my 1963 savoy and i use the original 14 inch wheels, with 4-caliper brakes.
I don't know any partnumber or what so ever.

best regards from the Netherlands,
Marcel

Well, I found an 84 M body today at a junkyard and took the spindles, rotors, and calipers. No luck finding any A body cars at all. I think these spindles will work, I know some people think they won't because they're a little taller. Beat myself up getting these parts off, didn't have a big enough hammer! Next weekend or the one after that I'll see if I can't do this conversion. Going to just buy a two-circuit master cylinder from the auto parts store.

Got the job done, used a 1971 Duster dual master cylinder, 15/16 inch bore, got good pedal feel without power. The 10.9 inch discs work with my 14 inch wheels, after I got the alignment done the car drove and stopped real good.

I tried that and had to grind the caliper.

The caliper is the Dynalites and it's the Pro-street setup from Wilwood with the vented rotors.

no problem; pls send me a pm with your mailadress; for some reason i can't get the pics to upload..

Sorry, i thought it was a Wilwood-setup; think it's an SSBC setup.
Car has been in the paintshop too long, memories start to fade haha.

not to be critical but don't the calipers bolt to the back side of wheel circumfrence

Mr4speed,
You are running 60's period 14" steel wheels or aftermarket? I will be using my 1966 14 X 5.5's.

X2, I did the same thing. A-body disc setup (74-ish) and put this on my 65 Belvedere. I ran the stock 14 inch rims for a while but I did switch to 15 inchers from another race car I have.

Could be; i bought the setup a few years ago and had to put it on really quickly because the car needed to go to the paintshop.

I am using the original 14inch steelies, that's right. And they fit right over the calipers and turn freely.

Here's where I got my kit and complete stainless pre-formed lne kit for my '62 Dart wagon.

Basically '73-'76 A-body parts with 11" rotors. The kit came with a 15/16" bore MC but the peddle felt spongy in my non power set-up. Switched to a 1 1/32"bore MC part #NMC1515 from a '71 Dart and the peddle is much better without being too hard.
