Disc Brakes Mount In Front of Spindle

Never saw this on any car and that Is how this car has them. Any one else? All cars have calipers on rear of front spindle. Looks like that is how it is made. On my 65
 
There were no disc brakes in 1965 for Chrysler vehicles.
You can swap the spindles and mount them front or rear. It's just a mirror image.
 
Strictly from a performance standpoint, a caliper as low as possible and closest to CG is best. Of course, considerations for proper bleeding, water immersion in high water, increased risk for road debris damage, etc are possible downsides. In the last decade or so there is ample evidence of this relocation trend from top center caliper mountings of years past.
 
You can swap the spindles and mount them front or rear.
Around the 73 model year Mopar slider disc brakes came out on A bodies and were mounted to the front.
There may have been a clearance issue on A's,not sure.

As Don said you can mount them either way on a B body.

The problem I've heard mounting them on the front is the sway bar fitment hits the caliper.
 
Disc brake swaps (Disco-tech) using Mopar parts from other years had issues with hose routing due to where the hose attached to the caliper. Front mounted calipers solved the routing issue. But on pre-70 B-bodies the calipers would interfere with the sway bars. There are still hose issues if you try rear mounting the calipers. I'd like to see a couple photos of the OP's setup.
 
I was in an auto parts store a few years ago buying calipers for my E body, and the parts guy basically called me an idiot, because he was a mopar expert, and ALL mopars had rear mounted calipers.

When converting an early B-body from drum to disc brakes, with the calipers hung to the rear, it is a fairly simple job to move the brake hose bracket from behind the top control arm to ahead of it. Just drill the spot welds on the bracket, move it ahead on the frame, and reweld through the holes. This way, you can use a factory hose.

1965-72 A body Dodge Darts, Plymouth Valiant's, Barracuda's, has disc brakes on them, and they are mounted towards the rear.
They are Kelsey Hayes, 4 piston calipers.
 
I mounted mine to the rear to avoid replacing the hard lines, hose routing has not been an issue.
 
Blew my mind, been working on Mopars for a long time and this was a first. I never had to do fronts on a B body when I thought about it. Mostly A body cars. Thanks for the pics ! My hoses looks retarded and like a after thought.
