This has probably been asked before, and I'm not an electronic ignition guy however I must ask a question. I have a performance ignition system for my coronet that's good up to 7500 rpm. The system is designed to work with a vac-advance electronic distributor. It's not a mopar unit but the same style ECU, uses a ballast resistor and connects to the coil and distributor. The wiring harness has leads with a two pin connector for the distributor. My question is, can I use this set up with a new billet MSD mech-advance distributor (8545) that I now have for the car? The distributor has a two pin connector for the pick-up (trigger) as well (slightly different size). I guess what I'm asking is do they speak the same language?

Yes I think it would work. You may need to test whether the polarity of the pickup coil wires are correct. I know I've run both a Mopar distributor and an MSD with a street fire amplifier.
