Awesome. With the Pertronix unit I had to by pass the voltage regulator. With the mopar dizzy do I hook the VR back up? It's a 1970 Belvedere and a 1978 360 I'm swapping in. Does the '78 dizzy use a different VR than the '70 VR with a points dizzy?A stock Mopar electronic distributor will work pretty darn well.
Connect it to just about any VR as indicated in the manual. I believe the gap is .016 to .022 but use a brass feeler to set reluctor to pickup gap. Use a quality VR that meets or exceeds Chrysler specs. This is in fact a capacitive discharge ignition distributor when coupled with the proper VR.View attachment 493437 View attachment 493438 The 1978 360 LA I just bought has this distributor in it. What type of electronic points is that? Is that better than the aftermarket Pertronix ignitor unit I put in my 318?
Try .008 to .010 on the air gap. Not setting contact points here.Connect it to just about any VR as indicated in the manual.
