DMT is making tail panel gaskets for 1969 Coronets

I spoke with Jim Fillmore at Detroit Muscle Technologies (DMT) today about whether they sell the foam gaskets to seal the holes that the studs pass through into the trunk that hold the tail panel on the car. He asked me to send him one and he would make a set. These will fit Coronet R/T and 500. There are 13 studs. No word on pricing until he makes them.

I had a package from DMT in the mailbox today. DMT made new tail panel seals for me. They look and fit perfectly.

Jim sent me a letter,

"Hey Roger

The sample you had sent is a modern material called Poron that wasn't used back in the day.

I don't have any of that material in stock. I made some from the material that we do have that was used on many of the trim clips back in the day.

I would upload a photo but the new seals look like the ones I took out except for the material. And, since they are white, the difference would be hard to capture.

I'm sure Jim would sell you a set now that he has a pattern to make them from. DMT has good quality merchandise that fits at a more than reasonable price.

Jim says, "They'd be very inexpensive. Say $3 then First Class Mail in a bubble mailer is $2.60."

He wants to know if any other Mopars use the tail panel seals over the clip on studs like the 69 Coronet R/T and 500. I told him I would ask the experts on FBBO and get back with him
