I've searched the forums and found only one thread regarding whether a 63 Fury steel hood will work on a 64 Fury. Conflicting/confusing posts on that thread regarding the latch mechanism. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

I believe the only difference is in the latch bar, between the fenders! Cowl is more rounded in the pinch weld on the 63. Different spear and no lower hood trim piece!

According to the Hollander interchange manual, the 63 and 64 Plymouth B body hoods are different and do not interchange.

Cowl edge on a 62-65 is the same at the hood gap. The rest of the cowl is different as is the windshield and roof. 63-65 door and fenders fit as well. The difference in 63 doors is the latch and would require welding. I belive 63 and 65 deck lids on a Plymouth swap as well, 64 is different.

Again, from the Hollander Interchange Manual:
1963 Plymouth hood: Part Number 2253460
1964 Plymouth hood: Part number 2425692
1963 Plymouth deck lid: " " 2425236
1964 Plymouth deck lid: " " 2425555
1965 Plymouth Belv & Sat- " "2576160
Fury I & II- " "2493326
Fury III & Sport Fury- " "2493644

Hope this info helps somebody.

It does...do you have a Hollander Manual or are you accessing something on line. I had a salvage yard years ago and the Hollander was our parts bible.

Yes, I have the 1954 to 1966 manuals. They are really handy, especially when you could actually find older cars in the yards and see what parts interchanged from various cars. Our yards around here don't have anything older than the 90s.

The hood will fit but the two have a different cut out in the hood latch area ,if you are trying to use a 63 hood on a 64 you will have a hard time unlatching it ,If you are using a 64 hood on a 63 and don't use the 64 front hood edge mounding you will have a larger hole on the front edge of the hood on the latch area.

Although Hollander part #'s are different the 63 and 65 trunk lids do interchange. 64 would fit as well if someone was willing to fill the corners where they were removed for the wider 64 tail lights.

64 deck lid is completly different. I was going to attempt this mod. The inner structure isn't even close where it sets on the tail panel.

I make fiberglass hoods and trunks for a living. Yes the 63 & 64 hoods are different, but only where you put your hand for the stock hood release . If you use hood pins and do away with the stocking system, it would fit and nobody would know the difference. As for the trunk , I use the same mold for the 63-64-& 65. all the same except for the tail light area. The 64 has a wider tail light and you have to notch the skin for the light.

the cowls are completely different and the hoods are not interchangeable.
