Do TTI headers fit as well as I've heard?

Im at the point where Im ready to order Headers. I have a 440 with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, 727 auto floor shift, stock front suspension, power steering, manual brakes.

I've heard TTI fit the best and hold up very well. My heads are ported, 10.2:1 compression, and will be adding nitrous later. For now Im running a dual plane intake and 850 AVS carb, but may switch to a holley dominator and single plane, so Im thinking I should get 2" primaries.

Is TTI the way to go when it comes to ease of fitment?
 
I purchased some stainless steel TTI headers for an older set of B1BS heads on my big block last winter. I finally got the car together and unfortunately one side didn't fit 100%. I contacted TTI and they agreed to fix the headers to fit. I have since received the repaired pipes and they look fantastic and fit perfectly.

I'm sure that my combination was a very rare one for them, but I love the headers and full exhaust. Best on the market for a Mopar!
 
i have 2" tti headers with 3" exhaust on my '65 coronet (manual steering) and it all fits like a glove. keep in mind that raised port heads will mess up any header combo if they're not designed for it.
 
Get your wallet. They are the best. One ding-L-do ya for mine at the idler arm psgr side.
 
I purchased the entire exhaust system, and only had a problem with the h-pipe section hitting the torsion bar cross member on the drivers side, but they sent me another set that fit better and cleared the cross member. I also had to get a mini starter, modify the shift linkage on my 727 and modify the trans cooler lines to work, they are a tight fit, but once installed I was pretty happy. This is also on a small block 340 car.

They seem to be engineered a little better.

I have a '66 Satellite, 440 (500"), TF, manual steer, Ede Perf RPM heads, non stock inner fenders, mini starter, aftermarket cable shifter, 2" TTI's. They fit pretty good, plug access pretty good, although getting to #2 & 4 coming in from underneath. Next winter I'm going to install a "pigtail" for the starter wires. Ceramic coated,seem like they'll hold up well.
 
Biggest thing to remember is to install new motor mounts along with the new TTI's.I was stupid and never looked at the insulators and beat the crap out of 1 tube that hit the K frame.Since then I have installed at least 14 sets of TTI exhaust with no problem.
 
TTI are awesome. Lots have had luck with Dougs as well.
 
I have the TTI Step headers on my 66 satellite and they work great easy to install ...

I have C5 TTi's on both my cars, and wouldn't hesitate buying them again.

I'm unclear what you mean. Are you saying a bad motor mount allowed too much engine travel and the headers hit the kframe?

Sounds like TTI work well for everyone that got them, and if there was a problem TTI fixed it. I'll give them a try.
 
I have installed 1-3/4 TTI's on my GTX 440 - tight fit but no clearance issues - very happy with the result. :headbang:

I'll also say that previously I had a stock H-pipe system fitted, and I had to beat the passenger side to create a clearance for the torsion bar.
 
I have the 2" had to lift the motor on the drivers side up as far as I could and once in place prior to bolting up get the starter in there, once in they fit great passenger side went right in.

my car is an automatic, power steering, power brakes.
 
I bought my TTI headers used. They fit like a glove. Yes you pay thru the nose. But fit is worth it. In the situation wityh a Hemi their is little choice.
 
I called TTI to order a new exhaust system and the guy I spoke with was not very nice and acted like I was bothering him when I was asking questions.

It was not a good call.
