Hi all
Have an Australian version of the1963 Dodge 440. The cars were imported to Australia dissambled and marketed as Dodge Phoenix. They appear to be the same car, with exception being they were made as right hand drive.
The only engine option was a 318 poly with torqueflite.
My question is as these were optioned up to a 426 ram.charger engine, does anyone know what was upgraded on the cars to handle the extra horsepower?
I can't find any info on this, but would think at a minimum the drums may have been bigger than standard.
I am trying to get my car registered with 440, but having some trouble as they were not sold here with high hp options.and trying to figure what mods would bring the car up to the level of the big block cars.
Any help much appreciated.

A 426 MW was mostly a limited drag car marketing exercise. Other than beefing up the drivetrain, I can't see them doing much of anything say to the braking system as much sense as might make for safety. Back then it was all becoming all about weight. I am sure others will definitively answer your question.
Interesting car BTW.
