Does this piece go where the fender meets the door?

My car came with some odds and ends and I'm trying to identify this one. Is my assumption right? And for the driver's side? And if so does the fender need to come off to get it in place?
I only have one so I'll need to locate a repro of its mate once I know what they are called.

I'm in the process of replacing those myself. One detail to note, in addition to the flat rubber C-shaped "fender shield gasket" at the top, there's another mostly straight piece with a half-dozen or so press-in clips that attach to the outer curved edge of the metal splash shield, where it interfaces with the inside of the fender. I bought new repros of the first 2 items for my Charger only to discover that straight 3rd piece of weatherstripping is yet another part needing replacement...and the search engines of most of the vendors don't find it.

Here it is, for a '70 Charger:

1968-70 B-Body Front Fender Vertical Side Rear Splash Shield Rubber Seals, Pair-Repro – National Mo-Parts

You tell a phone rep that you're looking for the splash shield seals, they'll think you're talking about the C-shaped gaskets.
