The wife and I just got back from a Hawaiian trip yesterday. While we were there we saw the funniest damn thing I have ever seen. I was driving down this country road on the big island and I saw this guy on a bike coming speeding up behind me. When he got close I noticed something odd about him. There was a face next to his. It was a dog! The dog had his two paws on the guys shoulders and was taking those twisties like a pro. When we came up to a stop light my wife snapped this picture.

I'm half amazed that the dog was able to stay up there and do it and as a dog lover half (maybe more than half) pissed off that the guy would risk the safety of man's-best-friend like that.

I agree. When my wife was looking out the rear window she asked do you think he is strapped onto him? I'm like well, I don't see a strap on his chest and that would probably be even more dangerous if he was strapped to him if he had to lay the bike down. But while I was a little appalled by what I saw that dog seemed to know how to ride that bike like a pro. As soon as the guy started to take off the dog hunkered down in the seat and squeezed the guys shoulders like he had been doing that his whole life.

you see the darnedest things sometimes... I've seen a few dogs riding in front of the riders with their front feet on the tanks & usually littler or medium sized dogs too... I'm not sure I'd do that, but it was probably a cool site to see none the less... dog probably loves doing it to... I had a dog a Staffordshire Bull terrier that would ride on my quad sitting in front of me, his paws on the belly bag on the tank, when we'd putz around the hills, only when he was a pup, never at any real speed thou, I was too worried he'd fall off or freak-out or something, but as he got older/wiser, he wanted nothing to do with riding the quad, but loved running next to it, for hr's on end....
