yeah there was other stories out there for that nick name, probably the same one your thinking about... I like this better, good explanation for a family forum, he's strike like a snake @ the starting line, with snake like reactions... that's his story & he's sticking to it....

stand out Front engine Dragster/fuel guy, before his death from burns suffered after 1st round 1969 Winter-nationals, died in the hospital a week later {those guys had big kahonies back then}... prior to 1969 he was considered one of the guys to beat, back east especially... RIP John
