Scratching my head, looking for answers for my 65 coronet 500.....I have a similar problem to the one discussed in this post
http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?t=36436&highlight=window+adjustment

But my problem is slightly different. Both my door windows tilt out at the top, away from the roof, making them almost a half inch away from the seal that they should slide into. I have the service manual and between myself and 2 friends, can't seem to solve the problem. We seem to have the tracks tilted in as far as they can go at the top but still no help. I think we have tried every possible adjustment, even things that didn't make sense.

Car was apart when I bought it but doors and windows were all in it. Pretty sure they are original. Anyone run into this ? I am thinking of starting to mess with the door hinges but hate to as the body lines all seem pretty close.

Thanks:eusa_think:

My experience has been don't mess with the hinges if the door(s) close correctly. Meaning, the gap at the jamb to the door is even; both vertically and horizontally.Next, look for bent parts inside the door such as the regulator arms or the track brackets, maybe worn bushings. You'll need to get inside the door with flashlight and mirror and take a good look. The other thing is, unless you trust the seller who knows what windows you have in there and how they were installed. Good luck...

If you remove the door panels you will see Two metal window tracks one at the Front edge and one at the rear edge of the glass.
These tracks guide the glass up and down and also the angle. if you have a windwing it will be part of the front track with an adjustment for the angle.

With a gap at the roof line, the bottom of the tracks will be adjusted slightly outboard.
You may have to adjust several times until you are satisfied.

Good Luck!

The tracks don't have much adjustment at the top, but as rrowdy said, look at the bottom. You should be able to loosen the mount and push them out-board. This will bring the top of the indow closer to the car when rolled up. You did not mention your wing vent frame. Is it aligned with the body, or is it sticking out as well?

X2 don't mess with the hinges unless doors are misaligned.

Thanks all. i have the pnels off and have tried the typical adjustment points. I am not sure about the vent windows and if they are in correct spot. I think I am missing seals that might be attached to the windshield pillars and would seal against the vent window frame. I think without those seals, it's hard to tell if the vent frames are in the right spot. Anyone have a pic of the seals that should go there > Thanks again !

in out window adjust

if you look at the illustration you'll see the in / out adjust. On my 62' it's a nut with a slotted screw/stud. loosen the nut and try to screw the stud in or out till you get the angle you're looking for then tighten the nut.:sSig_goodluck:

I understand your pain , mine was a basket case someone else took apart , not many baskets either , I had never messed with windows before , took me 3 months to get them back in after painting , pass. side is still stiff rolling up and down , have to open the door to roll it either way ...

Both sides have the same issue so I am researching adjustment information on this but Roadrunner is getting closer to be on the road.
