Looking online at repop door handles for my 70 cuda. Who has the best ones? I know they all seem similar, but prices vary. Looking for accurate quality....not cheap.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Mike.

I've heard that Dales Cuda Shop has some of the better ones.

Watch you door lock set up after install. Many of the repops attachment location is in a slightly different position so you don't get the correct throw for the lock to engage when you push the lock "knob" down. You think you have locked it but if you push the handle plunger a few times it will release. Options are swapping over your OE parts from the back side or in my case I had to bend a bit more "S" into the door linkage to shorten it up and make the mechanism travel correctly.

Which OE parts would you swap? I'm curious as to how bad this repop crap is. Thanks.

For the E-Body handles, there is nothing to change over. On the 66 to 70 B-Body applications, the inner mechanism has a machined ball lever that can be either face to the front of the door or the rear of the door. On the reproduction B-Body handles, they have only the one style available unless you purchase the Trim Parts brand. and they manufacture both styles. But it is a simple swap out.

For the Cuda handles, most of the reproductions have now figured out the concave vs. convex situation with these handles. Just know what your buying and who your buying from. I purchase from two different vendors on these pieces and I will give a nod to the Dale's Cuda Shop piece. You can verify there handles as it will have DCS cast into the back of the housing.

The actuation attachment on the back of the handle assembly. I learned about this AFTER the resto shop had put my repops on the car and I easily fixed my linkage on the passenger side to make it work vs pulling things off the door. Driver worked as is. If you hold OE and repop side by side you'll see if they match or the repop attachment spot is slightly different in location than the OE. Maybe Dales has better ones, I can't remember whom I bought mine from... but I bet they all come off the same boat.

EDIT: as Richard was typing as I was. Wasn't aware the Cuda handle was different. And we are supposed to be talking B Bodies here!! LOL

In the 68 to 70 B-Body world, there is a huge difference in the quality levels of the door handles and at least three different manufactures wholesaling the units. As Wayne posted above, before replacing the door handle and hooking up the hardware, verify the style that the car came with. It is a simple two minute swap of the mechanism, but can save you some swearing and grief.
