Double Walled Rockers

I am currently trying to figure out what steps I need to take to double wall my rocker panels on my 65 Dodge Coronet 500. Would a guy just buy a repo rocker and weld it inside the one that is there? Also I suppose you would need to seal the inside between the two to prevent rust. I am not doing the work myself because I can't weld anywhere good enough but would like to at least have an understanding when I speak to my body man. Thanks, Alan

A metal shop should be able to fab up some out of 12ga or thicker depending on equipment restrictions... sub frame connectors will make it stiff also be sure to level the car before welding floors and rockers or you're doors may not shut and could mess up thrust alignment
