Hi,
what actual length is the driveshaft in your 68-70 B-body (with 727 or A833 transmission)?
I know it would be best to measure but I haven't installed my Dana 60 yet (currently running an 8.75) and living overseas would put things a few months back so I would rather order the d/s now.
I want to know how much discrepancy there actually is between different cars or if it is rather a myth.

Thanks

going from 83/4 to a dana , the shaft is 1 1/8in shorter, according to the parts book. an also what I found changing mine.

If you order a Strange driveshaft they ask measurements for various things. I ordered one from them, through Summit, and was the best price .

That's interesting: the Dana 60 driveshafts have a different length between Charger/Coronets and Satellites/RRs/GTX - 50.96 vs. 50.39 - That's a 9/16" difference. I though that the frame/floor dimensions were the same.

Anyways, thanks for the replies so far! Anyone else who found the 1 1/8" difference from the parts book to be accurate?

I just changed to a Dana from an 8 3/4. I had 1.5 inches removed from the driveshaft and it fit like a glove with the proper clearance

Wheel base is an inch longer on Dodges.
