Looking for slip yoke driveshaft for 1965 Belvedere with big block 727 transmission. Should be about 53 1/2" long. Thanks
 
The PB shows the lenght as the right lenght, all true. However I hope the post'er is aware that the 65 shaft and yoke is a little unique. Come with a small yoke, and a drilled slip yoke for venting, plus they come with a weighted ring. Do you have a 65 727 trans, is the big question? Dodges are 3/4" longer. If original isnt an issue, just spec out the usual size flange and lenght.

Good luck. I had one made. Only problem I had a 1330 u-joint shaft in the car, it was to short. I measured off that shaft C to C and added the extra length to it. The problem I could only get 1350 yoke, a 1350 yoke is 3/8" longer than the 1330. It worked out but beware. Cost $325 delivered.

Just curious, when you say the 1350 Yoke was 3/8" longer, you mean the slip yoke? There are several "lengths" of slip yoke not related to U joint style. When you spec a driveshaft, you set the slip yoke position then measure CC between slip yoke u joint center & Axle yoke U joint center.
 
No, the extra length was from the slip yoke back. The larger cups and the thickness of the metal where cups mount, it's a beefier yoke.
 
I understand that, but then don't you slide the yoke a bit deeper into the trans? I've had short & long OEM yokes and a 1330 DC yoke and a couple of 1350 slip yokes. They all had lots of "slip" room on the tailshaft.

I measured center to center on a 1330 yoked driveshaft and added an extra 1.5". The shaft that goes on trans shaft is the same length the rest of 1350 yoke is bigger/longer than the 1330 yoke. Thought yoke would bottom out on output shaft and screw up trans. Wish I had them make shaft 3/8" shorter.
 
I have a shaft from a 65 Belvedere 361/727. 53.5" center of joints.

I was mistaken, it's the shape that fooled me, notice it's rounded the 1350 is square where u-joint mounts. I took the measurement on 1350 yoke, pic 2 measured 1330 shaft pic 1 so close to 1.5" didn't bother to put tape measure in pic.
There is maybe an 1/8" difference.

The measurement you are depicting in your picture is doesn't matter at all. Drive shaft length is measured by center of front U joint to center of rear U joint after you bottom the front slip yoke into the trans (including crushing the outer dust seal), then pulling the slip yoke back out 1.25 inches. That's when you measure CC between front u joint & rear U joint.

Driveshaft length doesn't care which style of u joint you use, 7290, 1330, 1350.
