I'm gettin' hit with more problems on this car......Got a 65 Dodge Coronet, 426 wedge, 727, 323 rear. The driveshaft I got with the car seems too darn long. Its all the way into the trans and just won't quite go into the rear end yoke........wtf.........:angry9:Any body in the mood for a new Dodge????????

I may be running into the same problem shortly. Not sure about your 65, but I got my tranny and driveshaft from a 69 coronet. My 64 Polara has a one inch shorter wheelbase than the 69. So I may have to get mine cut.

What length do you have from center to center of the U joints?

Driveline too Long??

That's an easy fix. If you're absolutley sure it's too long even with the the leaf springs extended down; take the driveshaft to a driveline shop or truck repair shop and have 3/4" to 7/8" taken off and have it balanced. Should fall in......

Are the motor mounts attached correct? ie not shifting the engine back like a 66 +, or by .005% chance an incorrect later K frame installed. Or you have wrong driveshaft, which is the likely answer

If memory serves, the correct length is 54 1/2" center to center with a 727 and an 8 3/4 rear and the engine and trans on the stock K member. Note that some of the 1965 727 transmissions had a snap ring on the output shaft so a later yoke wouldn't seat all the way. If you have the rubber rear seal, you should be able to push the yoke in far enough to compress the rubber somewhat.

I ended up shortening it about 2 inches. The yoke itself went all the way into the trans, so I don't think there was a snapring. Hope it works!!!!
