Hi. Any info is greatly appreciated. The knowledge people have on this site is amazing and I wish I had it. But my knowledge isn't too deep. When it comes to building my car I find it is like a slide puzzle and as I figure one thing out another thing is out of place. My hope is to try to iron some of those things out so I run into as few pitfalls as possible.

I am currently having the body built by a shop. They are going to install frame rails, mini-tubs, 4-link rear. They will replace panels including the floor pan and coat the car and deliver it back ready to go. This will probably include restoring the K-Frame and installing Disc Brakes.

The car originally was a (440 model) 318/727 car. If I wanted to switch the car over to a manual transmission what would have to be done to the car at this stage? Would a different floor need to be put in or just a hole cut into a standard floor? I was under the impression you could just cut a hole but I could be wrong. Could the shop just install a replacement floor pan for a manual?

About the build. I have been debating different power plants and I think something that could suit well would be a fuel injected 440 similar to this : http://precisionraceengines.com/cra...troker-crate-engine-fast-ez-efi-500cid-540-hp

4:10:1 Dana 60 rear: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/msr-d60cbccbbfbb/overview/year/1968/make/dodge/model/coronet

4-Link Rear : http://www.martzchassis.net/our-products/front-independent-suspension/chrysler-a-amp-b-body

What transmissions would you recommend for this build? Are these things compatible/proper for my goal?

What exhaust setup would you recommend?

A few other items I am considering for the build

I am open to suggestions. Thanks!

Welcome to the site - you will have to post some pics. of your project when you get a chance. As far as the 4-speed conversion. If you don't want to spend the time finding all the necessary parts and pieces, Brewers sells a complete kit with everything you will need. The floor pans are the same with the 4-speed just needing the hump welded in and the hole cut.

Thanks! Here is the original thread for the car : http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?40499-New-here-68-Project-car

I had a lot of posts at the Coronet Forum since I bought the car but that site was completely flushed and re-done I think.

What transmission would you recommend for my application and engine of choice? I am thinking it would need an overdrive gear.

I will tell the shop what you said about the floor pan. I just want to make sure that the body work done will work for the project goal/expectations so that nothing has to be torn apart (again) later.
