I have dual Carter AFB's on my 66 Hemi and it's a hard starting beast. The front is 4139s and rear is a 4140s. I don't see any choke on them. Are they original? I would like to send them out for a rebuild. Any suggestions?

The numbers appear to be correct. As for original, you'd have to check the dates.

4139 and 4140 are correct for 66 426 Hemi. Are there holes in the air horn for a choke shaft and butterfly?

They're very easy and simple to rebuild yourself. Otherwise, Scott Smith at Harms is a great guy to work with and he does great work.

Scott at Harms Automotive. Yes I think they are correct for 66-67 Hemi's.

My friends 69 Hemi Roadrunner is terribly hard to start after sitting for a couple days. We prime it and it fires and runs but if they don't keep feathering the throttle to keep it running and it dies - even after 5 minutes or so - it will not restart without more priming.

I just received my 66 Hemi Satellite I purchased with 4139 and 4140 carbs too. The Reliable delivery guy had to crank it forever before it finally coughed and then fired up.

Seems to take a lot of gas to get them running.

Be glad to help
