I was wondering a couple of questions for the speedometer as I was putting in the dash looked like a vacum hose. Do you connect that hose right up to the speedometer? Also wondering is there a diagram for the little lights used for the idiot lights on which one goes where? Also if there is any diagram what so ever for the gauges on the dash would be appreciated. Last is there any easy way to put the gauges in?

its on my profile but a 1970 dodge charger 500 with a 1975 ramcharger 440/4 swap. Still trying to get all the dash lights to work right. Also what turns on the dash lights? Is it the dome lite spin switch?

Go to mymopar.com and get the electrical diagrams for your car. Vacuum tube is.for headlight doors lol do not try to plug that into ur speedo lmao.

the headlight switch turns on the dash lights when you pull it out. They come on with the headlights and parking lights. I think it is the white wire but not sure.

Thank you for that but another question. What is the black wire thats in the back towards the rpm gauge on the left harness?

ALso which color wire back behind the gauges leads to the tail lights to confirm that the tail lights are on?

Generally, a solid black wire with no tracer is a ground wire. I dont really understand your second question. Are you asking which wire from the headlight switch powers the tail lights? There is no indicator light for your tail lights other than the dash lights. The only true indicator lights are hi beams, left and right turn, and emergency brake/ brake failure light.

r

Its actually gray with a screw hole on the end where it looks like it mounts to a screw but the wire is grey not black.

Solid greay wire on my 70 RR is for the clock, BUT there's no screw hole on it. You can see it at the bottom of the plastic housing for the tic-toc-tach. Hope this pic helps!

Update I got the lights on the rpm gauge and speedometer gauge to work. Only issue is now is the dome light/console lights do not come on. Also the lights on the 3 tachmeter guages do not come on. I cleaned them made sure there was no corrosion and I also put new light bulbs in but still wont work BUT! I have not wired the wires to the 3 tachmeter gauges! would that cause the tachmeter lights not to work or are they counter connected with the lights for the rpm gauge and speedometer gauge? turn signals work, high beam indicator works as well

in the picture above by fish you see one of three of the lights I was talking about next to the wires I was talking about.

UPDATE I did get all the gauge lights to come on and everything hooked up. Only problem is the temp gauge goes all the way to the right. I dont know exactly why this happens but if anyone can give me advise where to start the search on to find the problem I would appreciate.

Sounds like the wire going to the temp sender is grounded somewhere.
