Would you know the values for the dual resistor?
The origional two circuit ballast resistor used 5.0 ohms and 0.5 ohms. Subsequently, the later revision to the Orange box ECU, which eliminated the 5.0 ohm section and used only the 0.5 ohm unit. Not exactly sure where/when the value of the ballast resistor changed to take your pick: 0.9 ohms, 0.7 ohms, ot 1.2 ohms. Best guess is those values were the ones available at the local auto parts store which, then became the gospel value. Remembering the purpose of the ballast resistor is to LIMIT the current flowing thru the coil's primary winding AND the switching transistor's current flow (the external transistor on the ECU). The higher ohmic value REDUCES the current flow and available energy to produce the spark UNLESS the coil is changed to operate with the reduced current yet still provide the required spark energy.Would you know the values for the dual resistor?
On the dual ballast I think that I read on my Haynes manual the resistor values were something like 1 +/- .2 and 5 +/- .5... but I can be definitelly wrong and my manual is +8000 Km from me at this moment to confirm it, LOL.
