emergency brake cable

Have 63 Plymouth b body , how does the cable unhook from emergency brake pedal , have pedal unbolt from brace but can't get cable unhook , service manual not much help . Thanks
 
I think the whole assembly comes off sir. On the 67's it does.
 
I thought there was a slot and a hole and cable has a crimped end that holds it in the slot been awhile?
 
If it's like my 65 you have to remove the rebound bumper to allow the pedal to come up all the way. I put mine together off the car.

You'll need to have the cable adjustment under the car backed off all the way or even disconnected. With the unit removed, like you said you have, you can use a small screwdriver in-between the frame and push it out through the clip that's attached to the end of the pedal, with the pedal all the way up. Maybe with the rubber stop and switch removed might get you a little more travel. Here's some pics to what your dealing with...
