I am thinking of buying a 24' trailer to haul my car in. Does anyone knof any good used ones for sale. Can you make any pros and cons recommendations on this purchase.

I had a few FeatherLite enclosed 28' dual axle tag, 43' & 45' 5th-wheel & gooseneck trailers, air ride triple axle trailers over the many years, I really liked allot... Had a Dynacraft 43', wouldn't recommend them... I had a couple of cheaper Wells Cargo 24' & 26' tag car haulers/trailers too, like in the $12k-$16k price range, allot cheaper than the FeatherLites, allot heavier foot for foot too, but they served me pretty well for the price/budget especially.... IMHFO an aluminum sided body & frames instead, of a FOP/POP fiberglass or plastic over plywood sided/less expensive trailers, aluminum will have less tongue weight, tow, ride & last allot longer, also have better resale too... I would also get plenty of tie-downs D-ring in the floor, preferably not a wood floor either, steel or aluminum diamond plate & cabinets & shelf with tie downs with plenty of room for storage, a electric winch is always a good idea too, spare battery, small air compressor, small generator with plug sockets front & rear inside & out, also lighting inside & outside the trailer, are also nice to have & electric trailer brakes are a must/@ minimum.... you can usually buy a year old used one for a much better deal than a new one depending on what you need & want... Get one you can stand up in & not have to crouch down... Be careful trailers seem to age in dog years, like a 7:1 ratio...LOL... good luck, happy hunting

get bigger/longer than you think you need, there's never enough room in a trailer for all the crap...

a dove tail deck &/or long ramp extensions, is nice for easy loading too, especially for lower/heavier cars, usually have less tongue too...

I've been kind of keeping my eye out for a good trailer around here without having to spring the big $ for a new one. I can tell you one thing for sure, there's a lot of junk out there so be really careful and check 'em out real good. I've seen a lot of bad brakes, crappy welding, etc.

Thanks everyone, I really would like to find a used one but it looks like I might have to buy new, used are few and far between. I was going to order torsion suspension, lighting and outlets, I really do want he floor winch but need to check on the option price. thanks agin every one.

If you plan on just hauling a car with other things but not a whole bunch of stuff, then a 24 is fine. Thing is, the more years you haul, the more you'll find to take along with the car. Many people say they can just fill up the back of the truck too but that's a pita and lots of times you'll want to bring something home that you find while out and about and won't have the room with the smaller trailer and a full truck. I also like to keep my truck bed empty if possible so I can park the rig some place safe and use the truck to run around and not worry about what's in the back.

Good used trailers aren't on the market that long if priced right. I looked for four months before finding a nice used one. Up here in the rust belt a lot of guys also use their enclosed car haulers to haul sleds, with all the salt on the roads it eats them up pretty quick if you don't keep them clean.
Check ebay and C/L daily. Drove 2 1/2 hours to get mine.
