Enclosed trailer.

Can anybody explain why trailer prices are so much higher on the west coast? Is it simply that ALL the manufacturers are east of the Mississippi ? I have a lightweight steel open trailer that I bought probably twenty years ago. Tows like a dream, I love it, wouldn't take twice what I paid for it, however....
I will probably be moving three households, and too many cars from California to Arizona. If I could find a 24ft enclosed, big enough for my runner and my imperials, I could move lots of stuff at my leisure. However...
I can't find anything I like for what I would consider even a decent price. Example, a new 8.5x20 (I know, too small) east of the Mississippi, around four grand. Here, three year old used, sixtyfive hundred. I can't even find a new 24ft within 500 miles for less than ten? Back east I can find one for five. I've tried trailer trader, racing junk, local white paper (recycler),letgo, I've found nothing.
What are your experiences, what have you found?

Have you tried apps like offerup? I am looking at a 25' enclosed 2015 Apache that has been fully insulated, shelved, honda generator, drop ramps for $7750 or best offer. I do not know if it is a good deal.

A close friend knew of a trailer that a work friend of hers was selling. I went to see it, and it probably was a good deal but.... It was a MONSTER. Nice living quarters all amenities, 30 ft floor space, I might have got it for 13k, but it was well over 10klbs, more than 40 ft fifth wheel. Nice trailer, but WAY more than I need.

It is in Yorba Linda, there is also a brand new one in Covina but it is a 28' for $10,229 and it is a 3 axles and e-brakes.

Try trailers plus.com They list one in Kingman AZ. New 8.5x24 Victory Car Carrier for $8489.
I bought mine from them in 2010 for the $8000 price range including sales tax. You can deal on price.Not sure if they still do but they had a factory making them by the Kingman airport.I picked mine up at the factory and saved $500. They also list different city's that they sell from. I just picked Kingman for example.
They were easy to deal with, They gave me up grade axles from 7,000 lbs to 10,000 lbs, loading lights along with loading lights for the ramp door, spare. I have about 50,000 miles or more on mine doing lots of cross country trips to the east and back.
I remember when I sold my 1993 24' trailer I got more for it than I payed for it.And it was 15 years old.

I bought mine from South Texas for $4000. Its 8.5 x 20'. Its an awesome trailer, tows beautifully and in near new condition. Why don't you look for a trailer in the Southern States and ship it to California? If you pick one up cheap and you need to do wheel bearings and tires, with shipping you will still be ahead of the game. There is a company in Douglas Georgia that does really nice trailers at a great price if you want to go new. Try southerntrailerdepot.com

Why don't you look for a trailer in the Southern States and ship it to California? That Douglas Georgia place is where i was shopping on line! That same trailer as yours is $6500 used here.
Jase, is that trailer long enough for you? What do you carry in it? I think my 69 runner will probably be the longest i will use mine for, but i think there is only a couple feet left over, once it's in a twenty footer.

I have a 73 Charger in there at the moment. It fits with ease. If you are wanting extra room on top, then not that much. The way I looked at it, I didn't want too much trailer that it was a hassle to tow, but enough for what I want. 20' suits my needs fine.
If you were moving house, you would get a lot of furniture in there.

My daughter works for Look trailers. Home office is in Indiana. They have plants in Utah and Arizona. I would think pricing would be comparable to here in Indiana.

You are welcome 33Imp. LOL, nope. That would be cost prohibitive for sure. My Father in Law is a Texan and Its stored at his place. We are going to move back to the States in a year or two.
