Engine Coatings

Anyone use coatings on engine parts or has anyone had their valley area coated?

i have used WPC metal treatment on an and all friction parts in my engines.


my latest 440 has this treatment on wrist pins, piston skirts, cam bearings, rod and main bearings, rocker shafts, oil pump drive shaft, fuel pump pushrod and oil pump rotors.

if i would have had any cash left over after i did all this, i would have done a thermal coating on the piston tops, but here i just polished them on a buffing wheel.

You can do dry film and thermal barrier coatings yourself. All you need is an air brush and a toaster oven.
If you want to doll up the outside too, call me.

lol I am thinking more along the lines of thermal coatings internally in the block or parts to help cut down on the heat.

Reducing friction reduces heat.
