Engine color, Opinions wanted!

Hey guys,
So I'm trying to decide what color to go with. I believe the engine was originally Hemi orange or some red, So i bought a can of Hemi orange and silver header paint. I sprayed those two along with some plum crazy purple on a piece of cardboard and I like the Silver/purple combo but I'm not sure if it's what i want. I like the orange because it stands out and i like to stand out lol but i'm not sure if the purple will pop enough. Ugh so yeah i can't decide lol and I'm looking for your guys opinions Oh btw the engine bay is painted black.

What color is the car? That may make a difference. If it is a 69 Road Runner, orange is correct. An orange engine in a black engine compartment would pop, if you don't mind the Halloween look. My car is Lemon Twist - my engine and air cleaner are body color with black accessories (MP valve covers, distributor, alternator brackets, motor mounts, etc.) with some chrome/ceramic coat (headers, alternator, etc.). I even had a custom decal made for the air cleaner. Make it what you want!

Nice i love that, It's a Satellite/original 318, The body is Plum crazy purple. I just don't know if the purple will be as cool as your lemon twist on lemon twist, Maybe it will because the bay is black. I don't know. Maybe if i paint it plum crazy but do the heads and headers silver and maybe some other parts.

I have a buddy with a Firebird (sorry!) that customized his engine compartment. His car is purple too. He painted his engine a medium grey/silver, then after a few to many beers thickened up some purple paint and drizzled it on the valve covers and air cleaner in a random pattern. It looked really great when he was done. That said, orange engine with black accessories and a bit of chrome dazzle in a black engine compartment would be a looker, in my opinion.

Thats a good looking Max Wedge! Hmm if i'm not busy tomorrow i might paint it. If i do i'll post some pictures of what i decided if i decide lol

Did you paint the inside of the alternator to match? Or does it just look orange.

I like race hemi orange but......... street hemi orange looks tooooo much like uke:terracotta for my liking

I'll have to google a picture. Not sure what i got it's just the basic 500 degree rated hemi orange at the auto store.
