Engine ground strap. 69 Road runner

If it helps any, the one on my 66 Charger is a 10 Gauge.

Believe I made mine out of 12 gauge, might have been 10. Heavier than anything in that bulkhead connector...

Classic Industries sells a ground strap for a 68-9 RR. Part #MD2571.
Does not indicate gauge, sorry.

mine is the same as Dadsbee's
Only I used shrink wrapped and soldered connections as opposed to crimped ends
We tried to make everything look factory even when it wasn't

When you work in aviation you'll learn you don't solder smaller gauge strand wire connections...

No disrespect
You have knowledge I don't
We soldered everything
I hope we don't find out how wrong we were the hard way

You'll have no issues with it in the car. Solder takes a once flexible wire and makes it solid = possible vibration failure later. It can also remove the direct copper to copper connection that a crimp connector offers and cause possible added resistance.

As above , although the bigger the better.

Makes sense. Would one of those braided straps be better based on the logic that they appear to have way more strands than a stranded 10 gauge copper wire?

Have one waiting when mine gets back from paint jail.

I have boxes and boxes of those in the hangar... used on fabric airplanes to bond all the structure together and moving parts on aluminum ones. Guess I wanted mine to look somewhat OE using some Black wire.

I have one of those hanging on a peg board in my shop
I just couldn't bring myself to use it
Looks too much like a Chevy part
I made my own

Paint it black, almost invisible!
