Requesting help to ID either a 361 or 383 B-block, casting number is 212-8854-1 which I have found for both 1964 361/383...Under the distributor the pad had stamped the following...6-3 HP T41, this does not help me ID if the engine is a 361 0r 383, any thoughts...

As noted above, measuring the bore is the only way, which is a pain if the engine is assembled. The stamping on the pad is for a 1963 413, which is a mistake. The casting number is for a B engine, and a 413 is an RB.

The early big blocks didn't have engine size ID on them at all?

I had a 361 with just 36 on pad on a 1960 dodge seneca

I do not no for sure but HP would lead me to believe high performance, which leaves the 361 out, I don't believe they were even made in anything but a 2 bbl
