A torque strap to tie the driver's side of the motor down to the frame will cure broken mounts if it's a street car. If a race car, solid mounts are available. In the old days we used a length of heavy chain bolted to the frame and the head. Now you can buy a purpose built torque limiter.
Thanks guys. My engine makes between 550 and 600 horse. I plan on drag racing and doing some street driving. I only have the stock mounts installed. Will solid mounts vibrate the car too much for street use?
Depends on what your version of "too much" is. Depending on the cam/ suspension/tires/wheels/road condition/etc./etc. it can have the ability to rattle your teeth. For some this is 'too much'. For others, maybe not.
bought the mounts from 440 sorce.they have interlocking metal mushrooms covered by rubber.they look stock and still give vibration insulation while having the strength of almost solid.
Another solution: A March adjustable rod from Summit. I think it was around $40.00. I won't take credit for that beautiful (????) weld. The tab was on the car when I bought it.
Elephant ears, no mounts, then you have so much more room and can modify and lose weight on the x member, no pulling on the block, ability to set the motor at the right height and where you want
