Hey all,

Gong to paint my 318 poly soon. Want to do original mopar red. The # I've found is P4349218. Does this sound correct? Do I go to a paint shop and have them mix it and put it in a spray can or does Duplicolor or some other company make it?

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, Duplicolor or MRO (A Seymour product)
Lots of good ones out there.
Research a little.

BUT: Do NOT put the engine paint on thick!
Also. I use Dupont (green) self etching primer...Pricey ($) but well worth it.

The Duplicolor Chrysler Red Engine Paint is DE1632 in the rattle can, I just painted my '65 273 with it, I used the Duplicolor engine gray primer first.

Used the Rustolium Engine Enamel in 'Chrysler Red' (here it can be found at Autozone, Lowes, True Value, etc) on my `66 Poly. Very happy with the results.

Thanks! You say don't put it on thick; does that mean several light layers, or as few layers as possible?

Thanks, Dako. I saw the Rustoleum at Autozone. Wasn't sure if "Chrysler Red" was the right color. Did you use a primer as well?
