I ordered a new engine M&H wiring harness for my 67 GTX from Year One. I ordered the harness modified for an electronic ignition and a modern alternator. By modern alternator, I believe they mean two field connections. Harness is designed with plugs designed to plug into a four pin ballast resistor and a plug to plug into a five pin electronic ignition box. To the best of my knowledge, the distributor is the original Mopar and the electronic ignition is an internal Pertronix, although there is a box on the outside of the distributor with four connectors that has a Dyna Mod logo.

I hate to start cutting on my new harness, but am having a hard time finding a Mopar made five pin electronic box. I can only find aftermarket. I can find an aftermarket four pin ballast resistor that fits the connections that I believe is two circuits, one .4 ohm and 1 ohm.

Do I need to go with the aftermarket five pin electronic box and a parts store four pin ballast resistor? Is this is my only option without cutting the new harness. Is there a source for a Mopar made five pin electronic module from another Mopar vehicle that is compatible? It seems odd M&H would make a harness not compatible with the most common (orange box) Mopar electronic ignition conversions.

Did you ever figure this out? I to am in the process of doing this same upgrade, my ne wire harness is due this week.

I ordered the M&H harness for electronic ignition and modern alternator. Is is a 67 but 70 or71 for electronic ignition and alternator. They cannot provide a wiring diagram to go with it and my electrical shop said they would not try to install it without one. I think the four and five pin boxes will both work as one I'd a dead pin. Mine also needed the newer style resister ballast as the plug ins were designed for that. I think the harness was designed for the Mopar electronic ignition and mine was a Dyna Pro. My new harness is still sitting here and I now have everything working with the old one. I think if you have the Mopar Orange Box ignition, a new style alternator and but a new $8 resister ballast, you should be okay. I think I could have done the new one myself if I had had the right alternator and bought a Mopar distibutor/electrical ignition with the orange box.
