After working on the Coronet I'm sitting in my living room tonight listening to some music. Just my average playlist. Keep in mind my wide range of musical tastes, I like it all, rock, country, jazz, hiphop, classical, big band, electric funk, the list goes on and on. When Elton Johns "Someone Saved my Life Tonight" starts to play, I've got the headphones on and just chillin'. Now, I've always thought this was a song about suicide or attempted suicide but maybe it's because I'm older and wiser, but as I'm listening it hits me, what I thought was attempted suicide, was attempted marriage. Now the song makes sense. He almost got married till someone talked him out of it. Here's part of the lyrics.

And someone saved my life tonight, sugar bear
You almost had your hooks in me, didn't you dear
You nearly had me roped and tied
Altar-bound, hypnotized
Sweet freedom whispered in my ear
You're a butterfly
And butterflies are free to fly
Fly away, high away, bye bye

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming. :) I'm going back to my headphones.

Back in 68, mine was "When I look up to the sky, I see your eyes, a funny kind of yellow". That's why I painted my Road Runner, Lemon Twist.

When I was a kid I used to read the National Lampoon all the time. I remembered this short letter: "Someone shaved my wife tonight." Signed, Sugar Bear.
