Ethanol news

From that "news" article:

"I had to change two radiators and two transmissions," said Cannon, who blames the damage on ethanol.

Uh…yeah. Except there's no way for ethanol to cause problems with radiators or transmissions. BZZZT! Fail. Next!

Id like to hear her explanation on how it did this damage..

It doesn't need an explanation or any, like, y'know, facts or science; look at the URL for the linked "news" article and consider the source.

I would pay more for REAL gas.......NO corn, grass, beans, seaweed, sawdust, or any other craaap they put in it....!!!& call it Ethanol!

No kidding!! Ethanol is nothing but bad news and is just another government run idea gone bad. It used to be that government used to do & build good things, but I see nothing good that our government has done at all in the past 20 years.

End of rant.

I agree ethanol doesn't do us much good in the gas tank, but to blame the failure of a radiator and transmission on it seems a bit far fetched.

But to put it scientifically in terms of energy, the mass of the *** is directly proportional to the heat of the meat.

Ethanol laced gas is also required in lots of areas with pollution concerns because it produces less harmfull emissions....but the part nobody seems to ever answer is: If it produces a higher rate of fuel consumption (ie less mpg's) what is the value of the increased emissions based on the higher consumption rate?

Also saving us 5 cents a gallon but costing us 5 extra gallons on fill up does not = savings....

Sesame street put it correctly....one of these things is not like the other, one of these things is not the same.

The only brand of gas around here that is ethanol free is Union 76. It is owned by Conoco Phillips. I went to my local 76 station last weekend to fill up the Belvedere. Guess what. They were out of premium. I asked the attendant when they would have premium available and he said that he has been waiting for a week so far. Makes me wonder what the hell is going on?

All the 76 stations I've visited in Seattle have had the "Contains 10% Ethanol" stickers on all the pumps.

I'm up around the Mt Vernon, Burlington area. The three 76 stations around here claim that they are ethanol free, For now.

drill baby, drill!!!!

i'll admit, her trans and radiator problems aren't because of the gas, but there's no need to bash one news network or the other, Dan.

i would love to hear your thoughts in the political forum; then we can have an intelligent discussion. (not trying to be an *** Dan, but politics finally has it's place in this forum. thanks Joey!)

{rant off}

this woman had her problems because it's POS nissan!!!! (DAMHIK-ex gf)

gasoline should "sting the nostrils....and smell like pure gasoline;"

There's an urgent need to bash a "news" organization too lazy (or perhaps too invested in a particular point of view) to put out a story, with a straight face, containing anything near this level of nonsense about ethanol damaging transmissions and radiators.
