Everyone has broken windshields here.

Because we are close to the mountains they don't "sand" the roads. The smallest stuff we have is small gravel. The rocks haven't had time to weather very much. In many shopping parking lots, there are mobile windshield repair vans. Most drive with cracked windshields.

"Not responsible for broken windshields" is a very common sticker on "rock trucks" around here.

Used to be a thing where people with a broken windshield would get behind a tuck, then claim the truck dropped rocks and broke it.

Phoenix, once a year on average for me. But they landscape our freeways with rock.
