Exciting day today. After 4 and 1/2 years of ownership including 25 months in paint shop, today is the first day that everything, and I mean everything, works at the same time. All exterior lights including signals, flashers, backup lights and all interior lights including dash, radio, console and tach. Variable speed wipers and wiper park. Heater blower, heat and AC. Car starts, drives, shifts and brakes great (for four wheel drums).

Now I have to either drive it with the minor paint defects from original paint and reassembly or pull the trim and send it back to the paint shop to fix flaws most don't notice and make it perfect. Everybody who has seen it including other paint shops says they would take it back to the guy who did it the first time. The paint looks great where it has not been scratched in reassembly or something minor that was missed first time around. Car was painted, cut and buffed and most shops act like cutting and buffing is a foreign concept.

The guy said he would need the car back for three weeks, but he said the same the first time he had it for 25 months. He did have more extensive work the first time around as it had full length lower quarter panels, trunk extensions, metal replacement in lower doors and the roof cut off an replaced from typical original vinyl top rust above the windshield and on both sail panels. I hate to start taking it apart again, but I am really ready to see the car done to me expectations. The constant cash drain should be coming to and end - crossing my fingers. The engine, transmission and differential have always been rock solid with the exception of fuel pump, and replacement of leaky gaskets.

Getting old-----forgot what it looked like!!??

Drive it now & forget about the imperfections. If you can't stand the scratches, find another shop....or wait another 2 yrs..... been there/done that

OR do like me-- fighting with wife&the boys. 1st time paint or let it be survivor. Course the underneath is all 'Ohio',,meaning a "little" bit of rust.

Congratulations, that car looks great in the pictures. Black paint looks great if it's perfect but magnifies the smallest imperfection way out of proportion. The real decision is whether you want a show car or one you can drive and get dirty. Personally I always vote for the driver...
