I am relocating and would rather have the space than this 440.
I have a 1977 440 motor for sale. This was removed by me in person running with no issues. The odometer showed 47,000 miles on the class c motor home it was in. The motor ran so well you could sit a gas can on the air cleaner at idle. I know because I did this since the tank was not in place.
That being said this is a great running long block.
I am including the thermoquad (two of them) that came on it and the spreadbore intake (two of them). One is from this motor and ran as of 3 years ago. The other is 1974 vintage and I dont need either, so you get them.
I did crack a valve cover to see overall condition of motor (check for sludge) and I see that it has 452 heads.
I also took the dizzy out because I broke the cap loading the dang thing and it is super super clean and very nice inside.
Plan was to put a whiplash smogger cam, eddie intake and carb on it and put it in my dart but I just sold the dart and the guy didnt want to pay for the 440.
I am asking $900 or best offer. This is a decent deal nowadays for a known good running motor. I stand behind this motor.
Also, I will be in attendance at the Garlits show in Ocala November 7th/8th and delivery is possible but you gotta give me some faith money.
