Exhaust manifolds

Will max wedge exhaust headers bolt to a RB 440 ci engine ?
 
Yes. All 3 are tested. HP manifolds,Wedge Manifolds and headers. Port sizes are different but they will work.
 
I had a set of the repop S/S Ramcharger MW
from Mancini Racing
(like $1000+ a set now, I paid like $700 when I bought them)
Cast Iron manifolds on one of my 68 RR's years ago
both on a 383 stroker & a 426 MW Headed 440 stroker
they fit in the car fine (actually a lil' better with the 383)
Drivers side was really close to the brake Master cylinder (non power)
I built a heat shield
lower head pipe collector flange
was really too close to the firewall on the passenger side
rattle every so often when idling
I also had to move the 1968 TF 727 transmission dipstick tube also
it interfered with the Passenger side manifold/collector flange
I used dead soft copper gaskets, nor problems sealing them at all
& all the org. style OE hardware for the MW manifold install

it ain't a cheap deal

they are really heavy cast-iron pieces
they do have 3" exits too

really easy to get to the plugs

pain in the as to do valve adjustments thou

head-pipes are really expensive like $1500,
before the rest of the exhaust, really pricey too

or you can just fab up your own
or have a muffler shop do it if you have a collectors
they are square-ish flanges, with a 4 bolt flange, with a 3" hole

I have to agree with the OP on everything. Although I paid $25.00 for my OEM set(in 1970). I built a recess in the firewall in my 66 Belvedere for right side clearance . 2 years later I paid $50.00 for a complete 6 Pack set up! Few could set up 3 carbs to run at the time.
