What function did this code serve? Was this to let the line know GTX only options could be applied? I assume that the "option" was basically saying the same thing as "S" in "RS23".

Not in this case (that I'm aware of but perhaps it relates to the scoops?). This is the second line.

Wouldn't that be the colour code?

He's talking about sales code 365 used for the '67 GTX. and indicated as F/5 on the fender tag.

And yes, think of code 365 similar to an "A" package code used for '69 and later. It simply indicated the GTX model received certain upgrades like suspension, brakes, etc as part of the "S" designation.

The 67 Coronet R/T received something similar. It got the F/3 code on the tag.

Correct. It's neither here nor there, but as far as having a code for it, it seems like the body code alone would have covered it. On the line, they really only used the build sheets, right?

Yes and no....different sub assembly areas (trim shop, dash assembly, etc) used broadcast sheets to help them produce the sub assemblies. There was a larger sheet, which looked almost like an expanded broadcast sheet, attached to the carto help with final assembly.

Also, were the fender tags the first or last thing to go on?
