Who has been able to find a nice set of fab valve covers for a 383. There are many on ebay from different companies but my concern would be quality and thickness of material along with quality of work.

I bought these from Mancini and they work good for me. Nice flat surface and I can use the blue Moroso gaskets that have the metal insert coated in rubber. No leaks at all with my aluminum heads. My old stock covers would leak sometimes and I got tired of worring if it would leak everytime I adjusted the valves. These were a little over $100 dollars which is a good price for them. Ron

383man, how thick is the base of those covers, they are nice. They have this pic on their page ( bottom cover) I want those covers but I only can find them in small block application.

I dont know if you can get an idea by this pic but they are plenty thick as one of the main reasons I bought them was so when I tighten them down they would not bend any like a factory cover can. And they are plenty thick and wont bend even if you tried to make them bend some. Its a nice tuff flat surface that with my nice flat surface on my aluminum heads I dont ever have to worry about them leaking. I used the Moroso blue gaskets that are a rubber coated metal insert type of gasket that seal great on this setup and you can use them over. Ron

I wanted something with a thicker rail and over all material. Hopeing I can find a place that makes them not just a dealer that can help. I want to find the taller hole design746-3308.jpg

FINALLY found what I was looking for. Got ahold of " Jeff Johnson billet fabrication". They had exactly what I wanted. 1/2 in rail, tall cover and tall bolt holes.

440source also has a really nice set with 3/8 rails for a very affordable price as well.
