I have an 383 block casting# 2899830.3. I'm considering selling. Block was donated to a Wi tech. School by the Belvedere, Ill plant in late 70's. Block was then purchased from tech school untouched. This block has never actually been an engine. I did have block pressure checked and freeze plugs installed intengding to build it but am thinking a restorer may have a better use for it. If interested please message and I can provide pics. Block is in southern Wi.

Sorry about not including price, thinking $2500.00

Keep thinking! Knock off a zero and you will be closer to what it is worth. 383's are very common and it really doesn't make a difference that the block is new because it will never be number's matching to any car.

Settle down guys, you never know what some thingz might be worth to others. It was worth a try.

Settle down? Don't tell us what to do. We look out for each other around here. Caint have anybody gettin taken advantage of by opportunistic theives. Lemmie tell you somethin. I bought my 383 block ALL machine work already done and standard polished STEEL crank for one hundred dollars. I know we've all broken the no comment rules and I'll gladly take an infraction if need be, but buddy, if this is how you deal, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

are you guys really a bunch of douches first you tell him to post a price cause it's the rules then you rip him apart cause you think his price is to hi & leave comments about everything which is breaking the rules.
as for looking out for eachother around here are we dealing with a bunch of morons that don't know any better if something is a good deal or not???
mr rustyratrod stfu for once you don't have to leave a stupid remark in everybodies post just sso you can watch your post count climb!!!

this place is turning out to be more like the idiots over on mofarts every day

Wahoo, please permit me to apoligize to you for the way you have been treated here at FBBO.
And let me reassure you that NO ONE speaks for me. I am full grown and completely capable of making my own decisions as to weather or not a good deal has been put forth.
Also it is my opinion that blatant disreguard for the norms and conditions that govern this is no way to enforce the same.
Especally when enforcment is the sole domain of the Owner and Moderators of For B Bodys Only.
I will assure you that if you give us a chance you will find many reasonable, intellegent and wonderfull folks. They may not be the most vocal but they are here none the less and they are the foundation upon which this house has been built.
Good Day

As one of the Boyz here on FBBO, I need to at least keep this for sale post up and running for you all. First off...Rusty..pipe down and put a sock in it will ya PLEASE???? Great way to help out so don't. Chooch...this place will never be as bad as "MOFARTS". They are the worse and will always be. Arrogent Easterners from CT. Now to the add....

Wahoo...I really like the handle. Use that term all the time when I get excited. Your rare block will in fact most likely catch and command a larger price if in fact it is as you have stated. Most collectors of MOPAR memorabilia would most likely pay a higher dollar. But just for the record...it isn't worth the 2500.00 here on FBBO that you think it will garner. Remember that most here look at engines in a different light and this one to them is just another block. But given its pedigree I would think maybe 500.00 to 800.00 tops. Easiest way to see what its value would be is to supply some additional documentation along with maybe having it magna fluxed and miked along with a real good inspection to make sure that after all these years of use in schools it is still in serviceable condition. And definitley some pix's will help. Just a few suggestions is all. I wish you great success in you quest to sell it and you can always PM me to give me an update as I am rabid fan of the 383's. But not a bare block @ 2500.00. Completely built??? Then that is another question all together...:blob1: :blob1: cr8crshr/Tuck

Sorry to cause so much fuss, and thanks for the kind words and advice from some. I will take v the advice and come back in the future with more documentation.
