Fake Battery Top

Ok, I have to post this. If you are even thinking of buying one of those fake battery toppers to make your battery look old - don’t! They are ridiculously cheap made for something that sells for $60. They are made of real thin gage stamped plastic - about like the stamped plastic treys that cookies come in. Even the caps are stamped plastic.
I am absolutely appalled at just how cheap they are…

The caps are probably a much better way to go. I went and bought a sealed battery just to use the top on it. Learned the hard way yet again…

Only thing I found wrong with it was the overall width and I had to do a bit of milling on the hold down plate to make it fit... otherwise worked just fine for me.

They sell on Ebay - They also have a DELUXE Kit , using black plastic plates embossed with lettering instead of printed stickers , I have one ordered as of a few weeks ago

Actually bought the red cap kit from them morning when I saw the other thread.

I did to and worked out nice...They come from Belgium, only took 2 week or less to receive the kit.

Here are a few of it installed. Hard to see how flimsy it is without being turned over, but you can still see it in the pictures. Those “caps” are a single strip of plastic that has the six bumps formed, painted green and stuck through six holes it the top.

THANKS, yep not the greatest looking as you suggested. Why I wanted a picture to show what you have, as stating not to buy a topper as they're crap without a photo lead guys to believe all toppers were junk. I guess with yours they wanted to get that old pre '66 battery look but they didn't do a very good job vacuum forming that. As you can see the topper I used is pretty clean looking, but of course '66 and up batteries are a tad easier to simulate.

Anyone having trouble purchasing from Weskcar? I ordered a couple sets of caps and decals back on 27 March and haven’t even received as much as a confirmation. I ordered directly off their website and PayPal has paid them. I sent an inquiry through PayPal this morning.
